Arkansas is known for its scenic beauty, such as this view from Inspiration Point, west of Eureka Springs. However, the state has vast mission needs. Kansas-Nebraska Southern Baptists share a partnership with Arkansas. That state is one of many places that offer opportunties to serve.
Nebraska and Kansas may be considered new-work areas of the Southern Baptist Convention. But Southern Baptists here aren’t letting that keep them from reaching out.
If you or your church need to find a mission project for this summer, here are some Web sites to visit:
The Bridge
The Bridge is the volunteer mobilization Web site sponsored by the North American Mission Board. Visit the site at http://thebridge.namb.net/
You may use the top menu bar to search for a specific type of project. Or you may search for a project in a specific area or state in the United States. The Bridge also lists volunteer opportunities in Canada.
Other mission opportunities sponsored by NAMB:
Canada
Find information about volunteer needs in Canada at http://ccsb.ca/vols/
Arkansas
Mission opportunities in Arkansas may be found on the Arkansas Baptist State Convention’s Web site
The Mississippi River Ministry is a vital part of mission opportunities in Arkansas. MRM is a partnership of the eight Baptist state conventions along the lower Mississippi River. This 142-county region has been referred to as the “Third World along the Mississippi.” It includes about half of the state of Arkansas.
Mexico
KNCSB is working with Operation GO! (Gospel Outreach) in Mexico. It is an effort to place the Gospel of John in every household in the country.
