Helping Churches Make Disciples of All People

God moves powerfully at In.D.E.P.T.H. 2006

“I’m here to warn you if you die without a relationship with Jesus Christ, you will spend eternity in a real place called hell,” Ronnie Hill said during the opening session of In.D.E.P.T.H. 2006.

The annual youth event was held Dec. 29-30 at the Topeka Performing Arts Center, Topeka, Kan. God moved in a powerful way, and conference participants made the following decisions:

  • Salvation: 34

  • Assurance of salvation: 11

  • Rededication: 40

  • Candidates for baptism: 2

  • Other decisions: 147, including 97 for vocational Christian service

The conference theme was “Refuel,” based on Isaiah 40:29-31. Conference participants were first told of the need for “fuel,” or accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Some people want to use good behavior as a way to get to heaven, said Hill, a youth speaker from Texas. However, only the blood of Jesus wipes away sin. “You have to receive Jesus. I can’t do it for you.”

In the following sessions, Hill helped students learn how to share their faith.

One method is the four-part “Connect” strategy:

  • Connect with God

  • Connect with non-Christian friends

  • Connect those friends to God

  • Connect your friends to church
