KNCSB annual meeting approaches

The 62nd KNCSB annual meeting will be held Oct. 15-16 in Bellevue, Neb., on the south edge of Omaha.

LifeSpring Church (formerly West Bellevue Church) is the host church. It is located at 13904 S. 36th St. in Bellevue. Find map

“Better Together: Cooperating for His Cause” is the meeting theme.

Georgia pastor Michael Catt will be the keynote speaker. His church produced the popular movie “Facing the Giants.” The movie will be shown immediately after the opening session Monday night, Oct. 15.

Hance Dilbeck will be the Bible study leader. He is pastor of Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The popular Christian music group This Hope returns as the featured musicians.

Disaster-relief training
Monday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to noon

Eastern Nebraska Association will be hosting a disaster-relief training event for working with a shower-and-laundry unit. It will be held again on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 8-10 a.m. at Life Spring Church.

KNCSB Pastors’ Conference
Monday, Oct. 15, 1-4 p.m.

Jeff Iorg, president of Golden Gate Seminary, will be the featured speaker.

Previously, he was executive director-treasurer of the Northwest Baptist Convention. Iorg was founding pastor of Greater Gresham Baptist Church in Gresham, Ore., and also pastored in Missouri and Texas.

He is author of the new book “The Character of Leadership.”
In the book, Iorg focuses on nine essential leadership qualities: integrity; security; purity; humility; servanthood; wisdom; discipline; courage; and passion.

Missions Celebration of Kansas-Nebraska wMu
Monday, Oct. 15, 4:30-6:15 p.m.

“Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” will be the meeting theme. Workers with a people group in southeast Asia will be the featured speakers.

KNCSB annual meeting session 1
Monday, Oct. 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

This session will include the president’s message by Steve Dighton, pastor of Lenexa Baptist Church, Lenexa, Kan.

The popular movie “Facing the Giants” will be shown immediately after the session ends.

Anniversary celebration
A reception honoring three long-time KNCSB staff members also will be held at the church after the Monday evening session. The event will honor Bob Anderson and Brett Yohn for 35 years of service, and Terry McIlvain, 25 years.

Anderson is campus minister at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kan. Yohn leads the ministry at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. McIlvain is the KNCSB director of youth ministries.

KNCSB annual meeting session 2
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 8:55-11:30 a.m.

This session will include electing officers. Cecil Dale will deliver the annual sermon. He is director of missions in Nebraska’s Northeast Association.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 1:30-4:45 p.m.

New pastors and church staff members in KNCSB churches will be introduced.

KNCSB annual meeting session 4
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7-9:05 p.m.

Michael Catt will deliver the keynote address. He is pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. Catt produced and directed “Facing the Giants.” He was the movie’s producer and director, assisted by a host of volunteers from his church.
