The KNCSB disaster-relief team is now serving in Livingston, La., east of Baton Rouge.
The team is serving in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav. Meanwhile, Southern Baptist disaster-relief officials are keeping a close eye on other hurricanes brewing in the Atlantic basin.
KNCSB team members are based at Colyell Baptist Church in Livingston. The church has no electricity and is expected to be without power for three weeks.

Kansas-Nebraska Southern Baptists are asked to pray for the relief efforts. KNCSB is receiving contributions for the hurricane-relief effort. Make checks out to KNCSB, designate them for “Disaster Relief” and mail them to KNCSB, 5410 SW 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606.
Hurricane Gustav “did not turn out to be as bad as Katrina, but many people in the Gulf Coast area are in great need,” said John Lucas of the KNCSB disaster-relief team.
