Kansas Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists (KNCSB)

Helping Churches Make Disciples of All People

Messengers to hear encouraging news about WCC

Dire economic news is filling the headlines. But God is working to provide money to finish the new multipurpose building at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan.

Messengers to the upcoming KNCSB annual meeting in Lenexa, Kan., will hear encouraging news about the building project.

The WCC board of directors met on Friday, Oct. 3. They celebrated the salvation decisions from the 2008 summer camps:

  • Children’s camp (Western Kansas and Central Baptist associations): 33

  • Children’s camp (Smoky Hill, Kaw Valley, South Central and Blue Stem associations): 23

  • KNCSB Hispanic Super Summer: 12

  • KNCSB Super Summer: 158

User days at WCC from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30 totaled 32,291. This was up from 28,808 in 2007.

Volunteers are playing important roles at Webster, both in construction and maintaining the facilities. The summer volunteers have left to spend the winter in warmer climates. Why not make plans now to serve at Webster this fall or winter? Even one person serving just a few hours can make a big difference.
