Campers at Super Summer Week 3 gathered on the beach at Webster Conference Center for the B.L.A.S.T. tournament on Thursday, July 15. B.L.A.S.T. stands for “Bringing Leaders and Students Together. The underlying purpose is to teach teamwork and cooperation. Super Summer ends on Friday, Aug. 6.
Super Summer campers were challenged to respond to God “right now.”
Campers are looking at the life of Moses as they examine “Journey,” the 2010 Super Summer theme.
Chad Poe, from Chattanooga, Tenn., was camp pastor for Weeks 1-2. He told how Moses was raised in Pharaoh’s home while his people, the Israelites, were mistreated.
During an ill-fated trip to West Virginia, Poe and his traveling companions ended up staying in a dumpy motel. He asked himself, “How did I end up here?”
Moses asked himself the same question when he ended up tending his father-in-law’s sheep in the desert. However, God spoke to him and called him from the burning bush.
In the same way, God is calling Super Summer campers, Poe said. “God is calling you right now.”
He continued, “The perfect time to do things—it never comes.
“God’s call is immediate. Will you embrace that calling of God for your life?”
