Campers on Mission

Members of Kansas-Nebraska Campers on Mission are busy serving the Lord in a variety of places this year.

During the winter COM members served at: Texas Baptist Encampment, Palacios, Texas; Voice of the Martyrs, Bartlesville, Okla.; and Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan., where the group held its spring rally April 28-30 along with a work project.

COM members also attended the funeral of volunteer electrician Cotton Hale on Wednesday, April 26, in Parsons, Kan. Hale and his wife, Cathy, had volunteered at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan., for several years. They served for 25 years at Weir Baptist Camp, 12 miles southwest of Pittsburg, Kan.

Along with their regular rotation of work projects, Kansas-Nebraska Campers on Mission is busy planning to host the 2019 National Campers on Mission Rally. It will be held June 5-7, 2019, at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, Kan.

“Harvesting for Jesus in the Heartland” will be the rally theme. The theme Scripture will be Matthew 9:37-38.

Upcoming Kansas-Nebraska Campers on Mission events include:

Aug. 6-11—Work project at Alpha Christian Children’s Home, Perry, Kan.

Sept. 29-Oct. 1—Fall COM rally at Weir Baptist Camp, Weir Camp. A work project at the camp will be held the weeks before and after the rally.

Oct. 9-10—Annual meeting of Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan.
