Campers on Mission serve at WCC

Work is progressing on the new dining-hall addition at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan.

That is partly due to Kansas-Nebraska Campers on Mission. The group worked at WCC before and after the spring COM rally April 29-May 1. They contributed 761.5 hours of volunteer labor.

The work project at Webster Conference Center came after a busy winter serving the Lord in various places.

Several Kansas-Nebraska COM couples spent part of the winter serving at Texas Baptist Encampment, Palacios, Texas. Texas Baptist Encampment is the largest Baptist camping facility in Texas. It is located on the Gulf Coast.

These couples are already making plans to return to Texas Baptist Encampment in January 2017.

Other Kansas-Nebraska COM members spent part of the winter serving in such places as:

  • Voice of the Martyrs, Bartlesville, Okla.
  • Emmanuel Baptist Church, Topeka, Kan., which underwent remodeling.
  • Local Habitat for Humanity projects

After leaving Webster Conference Center in early May, Kansas-Nebraska Campers planned to stage a two-week work project at Weir Baptist Camp, 12 miles southwest of Pittsburg, Kan.

Upcoming Campers on Mission events are:

  • June 8-10—Campers on Mission National Rally at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, Springfield, Mo.
  • Aug. 7-12—Work project at Alpha Christian Children’s Home, Perry, Kan.
  • Sept. 23-25—Kansas-Nebraska COM Fall Rally at Weir Baptist Camp with a work week to follow.
