KNCSB to hold Worship Leader & Family Retreat

The KNCSB Worship Leader & Family Retreat will be held Friday night, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka, Kan.

The event is open to all KNCSB church worship and music leaders (full-time, part-time, bivocational and volunteer) and their families.

Jan. 3 is the registration deadline. The cost is $50 per person and $65 per couple or family. Make payments to KNCSB and mail them to David Manner at KNCSB, 5410 SW 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606.  Find registration materials

Kenny Lamm will be the featured speaker. He is senior consultant for worship and music for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
He served 23 years at worship pastor at Front Street Baptist Church in Statesville, N.C.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in church music from Southern Seminary, Louisville, Ky.

6:30 p.m.—Dinner

8:15 p.m.—Session 1: “Nine Reasons Why People Aren’t Singing in Worship and What to Do about It.”

9:30 p.m.—Snacks

Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017

7-10 a.m.—Breakfast buffet (for those staying at the hotel)

9:00 a.m.—Session 2: “Striving for Unity in Worship”

10:15 a.m.—Break

10:30 a.m.—Session 3: “How to Transition Worship in Your Church”

11:45 a.m.—Check out of hotel

12:15 p.m.—Lunch and dismiss
