WCC meets matching challenge grant

Webster Conference Center announced that the $50,000 matching challenge grant was met during the first week of November. This adds $100,000 to the WCC Dining Hall expansion account.

The WCC board of directors will meet in February 2014 to review cost estimates for the Dining Hall expansion project. Board members will determine how much more money will need to be raised and estimate when the project can begin.

In other activity, the WCC staff said good-bye to Floyd Foster who retired on Oct. 31 after serving for more than five years on the building-and-grounds staff. Foster is planning to return to his home state of Virginia.

The WCC staff welcomed Ron Emery as the building, grounds and equipment supervisor. Emery is from Hutchinson, Kan. He belongs to CrossPoint Church and is the chainsaw trainer for KNCSB Disaster Relief.

Emery is a Kansas Certified Arborist and a Master Gardener. He has a rich background in working for the Wesley Towers Retirement Community and the City of Hutchinson.
