WCC receives new matching grant

A new matching challenge grant for Webster Conference Center has just been announced.

The $50,000 matching grant will be used to remodel the WCC chapel. The project’s estimated cost is $100,000.

Make checks out to Webster Conference Center, designate them for “2011 Matching Grant” and mail them to KNCSB, 5410 SW 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606-2398.

The remodeling project will consist of:

  • Replacing the 1940s windows
  • Installing new floor coverings in the chapel and on all three floors of the chapel addition
  • New paint to replace the 1980s color scheme
  • New window treatments
  • New chairs for the 500-seat chapel

As of mid-April, $6,000 had already been given for the project. Half of the 2011 Super Summer offering will be designated for it.

Terry McIlvain, WCC administrator, hopes that work can begin in mid-August on such tasks as replacing the windows. The main part of the project will get underway after the larger fall events are over.
